Etienne le Riche
Cellar master and owner, Etienne is the driving force behind the winery. After a successful 20 years as winemaker with Rustenberg Estate, he branched out on a venture of his own. With various accolades, a founder member of the Cape Winemakers Guild and twice awarded Platter winemaker of the year, his pedigree has been proven, but this does not characterise who he is. A man who is careful to speak and quick to listen, his humility and knowledge drives the style that is Le Riche.
Christo le Riche
As director and winemaker, Christo has followed in his father’s footsteps and taken responsibility for the production of the Le Riche wines. From a young age two passions have dominated in his life, wine and the ocean. Which ever is dominant at any one time all depends on the mood of the sea. He enjoys being at the cutting edge of research and integrating it into a traditional winemaking philosophy. His winemaking experience was gained in some of the famous wineries of Napa valley and Bordeaux and he brings a fresh, modern view to the wines of Le Riche.
With many years of winemaking experience, Mark brings a relaxed stability to the winery. Whether it is the day to day cellar work, tastings and winery tours or during harvest madness, he has an attention to detail in every task undertaken. Actively involved in the community, he serves as the chairman of the board at a local school , but when the Springbok rugby team is playing badly he is a man best left alone.
Yvonne le Riche
Growing up in the Stellenbosch winelands has instilled a deep passion for all things wine related. In addition, a love for travel has taken her to various wine regions of the world. These travels have expanded her knowledge on trade, international wines, viticulture and winemaking, providing her with the ability to assess quality, styles and trends. A Cape Wine Master and graduate in politics and economics, she provides opinion and direction when Christo’s ideas become too extravagant.
